People say it all the time, "Where did the year go?" but it is still a valid question. Today is the first day of the last month of 2014. This month will mark the last sequential date (12/13/14) for our lifetimes. The days are 24 hours long and yet the minutes move like quicksilver. I know November just started and yet here we are holidays at hand waiting 30 days away from another new year. How did we get here?
At any rate, I am glad to be here to ask this question. I know in an instant 2015 will present itself. I am looking forward to the final flurry of days filled with friends and family, love and laughter happiness and harmony with a touch of the chaotic . Thanksgiving allowed me a chance to enjoy man of those I love all in one spot and was one of the best moments in time ever. I wish it could have lasted longer but the feelings it stirred stay with me.
Be thankful for each moment no matter how fleeting it may be. Be happy with what you have as some would gladly trade lives with you and others are happier with far less. Our lives are long yet never as long as we need, want or hope it will be.
What about 1/4/15, or 1/2/34? - kind of looks like 14-15, or 1, 2, 3, 4, to me. And, also, speak for yourself, I'm still looking forward to the singularity, so I'll be around in 3003 for the wonderful 01/02/03.
ReplyDeleteWhat about other patterns that people may enjoy? 12/24/36, or 12/24/48. (Yeah, think of it. We WILL be around until 2048!) That is ONLY 34 years from now, I'll be 76. My Grandma is having her 90th next May. My one Grandpa passed 90 years old, and I believe my other grandma made about 80. Sadly, my favorite grandpa passed first, but I think even he made it to his late 70s, possibly 80s.
Or order of primes, 11/13/17?
Seriously, if you're going to go all numerological, leave room for other than just purely sequential, especially since you are CHEATING, by ignoring the millennial numbers. If not ignoring those, we haven't seen a pure sequence since 12/13/1415, or even further back 8/9/1011, and the "best" yet 5/6/789. :)
OK, admittedly, you are right, based on your exact rules of month/day/last two digits of the year...but, there are many more ways to skin the cat, which should allow you to come up with some patterns to enjoy! :)
Have a nice day!
How did I miss 2/4/16? Same squaring pattern, 3/9/81...3/9/27 (which is 3^1, 3^2, 3^3).
DeleteSo many patterns...I can't STOP!
I won't even go into the idea that some people are happy with what they have done in their lives and are at peace with death. Or those, without being crazy, but wanting to pass, usually for want to be with a departed spouse...(Well, I guess I DID get into it...but, you know what I mean.)
ReplyDeleteTotally dissing your entire post. What an a-hole...or, just being my over-thinking engineering, Blonde-Boy self. :)
Hugs!
